Spoilers Ahead for Rick and Morty Season 7 Episode 5: Unmortricken
In the latest adventure of Rick and Morty, the duo returns home and engages in a heated argument. Rick expresses his frustration with Morty's constant complaints and suggests quitting if he hates it so much. Morty shocks Rick by getting him a drink and disclosing that he is Evil Morty. He proceeds to kill his Rick and goes on a mission to capture all the Mortys and kill all Ricks across different universes. This leads to the first appearance of Evil Morty. The entire sequence is presented as a flashback.
After the events of the Citadel's destruction and his escape, Evil Morty sought refuge in outer space, where he lived a peaceful life by finding crystals to preserve his hideout. Evil Morty discovers other travelers who have created their own multiverse traveling devices. Despite how dangerous the environment is, Evil Morty navigates the landscape and fends off other travelers who are vying for the same resources.
However, his tranquil life is threatened when Rick starts working on the Central Finite Curve to trap decoy Rick Primes. Evil Morty confronts Rick and Morty about their actions and reveals that Rick is "fracking" the Central Finite Curve to capture Rick Prime. He proposes a solution to ease the search and captures a new Rick Prime different from the others.
Evil Morty and Rick start to work together as they are operating at the same genius level now. They are arguing continuously; Morty reaches his breaking point and kills the captured Rick Prime, causing the decoy to disintegrate into black goo and fall into a trap. The trap is filled with other Ricks who have also been on the hunt for Rick Prime, and each has had some success in their own way. Rick Prime appears on a screen and announces the start of the next round. He reveals that all their Dianes have been eliminated from existence across all realities, thanks to a powerful new weapon called the Omega Device.
As Rick and the other Ricks fight each other, Rick Prime reveals that the last one standing will get Diane back. Eventually, Rick and Evil Morty team up to take down the last surviving Rick. After the fight, Rick Prime reveals that he has a Diane, but it turns out to be a psychotic robot trying to kill Rick. After destroying the robot, they escape using a combination of Rick and Evil Morty's Portal Guns.
After successfully escaping the trap, Rick C-137, Morty, and Evil Morty return to Rick's home. Rick is thrilled as he got the weapon that has the power to kill someone across all realities, which means it could also kill Rick Prime. Rick then discovers the possible locations of Rick Prime and goes on his mission alone. Evil Morty, suspicious of Rick's intentions, decides to follow him, convinced that Rick's intention to use the weapon could end his life. Morty was hesitant but joined Evil Morty to save Rick.
Rick C-137 charges into the giant planet-sized weapon base built by Rick Prime. When the two Mortys arrive, Rick Prime taunts Rick C-137 once more and reveals that the base is a new version of the Omega Weapon that can completely eliminate all of Rick's family. He then demonstrates its power on Slo Mobius, whom Rick calls Uncle Slo, and by using the weapon, Rick Prime wipes him out across all realities.
Rick and Evil Morty started to fight Rick Prime, which is preferably one of the coolest action scenes of the show. While Evil Morty manages to match Rick Prime's moves, Rick C-137 struggles to keep up with him due to Rick Prime's clever tactics. Though it seems like Rick Prime is defeated at one point, he quickly reassembles himself. Eventually, Evil Morty defeats Rick Prime and captures him as he disguises himself as his good grandson Morty.
After capturing Rick Prime, Evil Morty obtains some valuable schematics from him to assist Rick in recovering. When Rick and Rick Prime come face to face, Prime taunts Rick about his life without him and claims that either could have become the main Prime first. Rick, with his punches, brutally assaults Prime until he dies. Meanwhile, Evil Morty destroys the Omega Weapon. Rick comes all bathed in the blood of Prime. Evil Morty teases Rick about killing Prime and decides not to use the weapon as it would mean he wouldn't be able to live peacefully and alone anymore. He warns Rick about the consequences of his actions and mentions that he could have "vengeful Summers" coming after him. Rick is left in shock after everything that happened. He is still covered in blood and realizes his greatest chase has ended. However, despite achieving everything he wants, he is unhappy with the outcome.
End Credits:-
Slo Mobius's wife is shown with her family, as the children don't recognize their father. She is furious and starts a search for her husband. Eventually, she finds happiness in someone else and decides to pursue a different path from Rick's.
