Trailer Explained With Easter Eggs
The upcoming film "Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire" has been making waves in the entertainment industry lately. Zack Snyder's movie has been inspired by Star Wars, and the trailer has left fans buzzing with excitement. According to Snyder, the film originated as a Star Wars movie he pitched earlier. However, he had to make certain adjustments to the concept to steer clear of any copyright issues. Snyder mentioned that the film is a blend of "Seven Samurai" and "Battle Beyond the Stars", which were both parts of his original pitch for the Star Wars movie he planned to make before his DC projects.
"Rebel Moon - Part One: Child of Fire" will be released closer to Christmas at the end of December. It's only the first part of a two-part movie, and it seems like the makers are trying to create a franchise with sequels in mind. There's even a prequel anime about some characters, including Ray Fisher's character. Child of Fire is the origin story of Kora(Sofia Boutella), and the trailer has a lot of flashbacks featuring her character. The second part of the movie is titled The Score Giver, which also probably references Kora's character. Speaking of Kora, her name might remind you of Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra. The makers have been teasing much of Netflix stuff because of Geek Week, so many Netflix trailers are currently in circulation. Zack Snyder has a reputation for going deep into the lore and explaining the story in detail, and he's working on a couple of big franchises at Netflix, including the Army of the Dead sequel movies. If the Rebel Moon universe of stories is successful, they'll continue making sequels and spinoffs as part of this universe. The whole idea of the movie is that Kora used to be a high-ranking soldier in the Imperial Army, and the movie has a lot of Star Wars metaphors. The flashbacks in the trailer show her referencing being a child of fire, which is the actual title of the movie.
According to Zack Snyder, "Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire" features a David and Goliath scenario where the Empire comes to destroy the planet Velt to strip it of its resources. The Empire arrives on Velt to take food and destroy all the mining resources, but they have no idea that Kora, a former high-ranking soldier in the Imperial Army who knows all about their tactics, is living there. Initially, the townspeople believe that the Empire recognizing them is good until Kora warns them that they will destroy their world. When the Empire discovers what happened, they return to Velt to wipe the planet off the map. Kora then collects a team similar to the "Seven Samurai" style to protect the village. Corey Stoll, here from the Marvel Ant-Man movies, plays most probably a normal villager. Ed Skrein plays Admiral Atticus Noble, the Admiral of the Throne's Empire world and has stopped with the rebels, similar to the Stars War's Leader of the Rebellion. In the trailer, we see Michiel Huisman is playing another villager named Gunnar, who is helping Kora's character. Interestingly, Ed Skrein and Michiel Huisman played the same character "Dario" in the Game of Thrones series. Kora joins Gunnar to form the team and appoints Kai 'Fixer'played by Charlie Hunnam, a mercenary pilot like Han Solo in Star Wars. They go to a planet with a Colosseum (similar to the Gladiator movie) shown in the trailer to find Djimon Hounsou's character, General Titus. His character traits look similar to Maximus, played by Russel Crowe, a character in the Gladiator movie. They also recruit Tamarack, a super capable fighter who is a former member of a noble family who ends up working as an indentured servant. A giant bird-like creature that he winds up trying to tame is called the Benu is shown to be similar to Avatar. Then we see Ray Fisher's Darian Bloodaxe with his sister Devra, played by Cleopatra Coleman. They're the leaders of the revolutionaries. The prequel anime they're making in the next couple of years is called The House of Blood. It will probably explain how the rebellion and resistance started with Ray Fisher's character and his sister, which will probably be released around 2025.
The woman with the molten metal sword sabres is called Nemesis, played by Bae Doona. Due to copyright issues, they are not using the light sabres; instead, molten swords look similar to light sabres. She is fighting a Spider-like character, Harmada, played by Jena Malone (previously seen in Batman v Superman). In the movie, Anthony Hopkins voices a farming robot, and it seems he was previously a battle robot similar to the battle droid in Star Wars. There are more in the trailers, and many scenes look promising and exciting. Since the movie is coming out pretty soon, we'll probably get a couple more trailers with more footage, and we will try to explain them in detail.
The movie is only the first part of a two-part movie, and it seems like the makers are trying to create a franchise with sequels in mind. Early theory, they'll have their version of an Empire Strikes Back ending, pushing into whatever the next film might be.
