Timothée Chalamet's Hilarious 'Saturday Night Live' Hosting Gig After SAG-AFTRA Strike: A Recap

Timothée Chalamet's Hilarious 'Saturday Night Live' Hosting Gig After SAG-AFTRA Strike: A Recap

"Timothée Chalamet Shines as Host of 'Saturday Night Live' for Second Time After SAG-AFTRA Strike Ends: A Recap of His Hilarious Monologue and Memorable Sketches"

Timothée Chalamet, the 27-year-old actor, hosted NBC's "Saturday Night Live" for the second time and made quite the impression. During his opening monologue, Chalamet spoke about his musical background and promoted his upcoming movies "Wonka" and "Dune : Part2" now that the SAG-AFTRA strike has ended. He joked about how his previous hosting experience during COVID was weird, with him wearing a mask all week and Lorne Michaels mistaking him for Winona. However, he felt lucky to be hosting after the SAG strike ended.

Things took an unexpected turn during the monologue when Timothée Chalamet was joined onstage by Marcello Hernandez, Keenan Thompson, and Punkie Johnson, dressed as Nicki Minaj. Together, they performed a fun and random rap song about having baby faces. The reason for the song? Well, they all have baby faces, of course!

Timothée Chalamet's second time hosting NBC's "Saturday Night Live" seemed full of callbacks. One of them was the return of the tiny horse, but this time, it wasn't so tiny anymore, and their relationship had evolved. Another callback was the reappearance of Chalamet's rapper character SmokeCheddaDaAssGetta. This time, he appeared solo as part of a museum of hip-hop panel, where he didn't quite fit in with the likes of Mary J. Blige, Rick Rubin, and Dr. Cornel West.

It's interesting to note that in addition to his other appearances, Timothée Chalamet also impersonated Martin Scorsese and appeared as Australian pop star Troye Sivan for a sketch. He played the role of a sleep paralysis demon for a character played by Sarah Sherman, a show's cast member.

However, on Sunday, an "SNL" joke referred to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, which led to people on social media reacting. In a skit with Please Don't Destroy, Chalamet's character plays an aspiring musician who wants to end his life. When asked about something he cares about, Chalamet responds, "My music." After playing a song for the group, he asks if they will share it on Instagram. When asked for his username, Chalamet responds with "Hamas, H-a-m-a-s," which the group refuses to share on Instagram.

The sketch where Chloe Fineman impersonates Britney Spears and showcases other celebrities trying out to read the audio version of her new biography has faced criticism from Spears' manager and social media users for making light of a serious book that includes elements of trauma.

It seems like the trend of big cameos continued during the latest episode of "Saturday Night Live". The late sketch called Calm Sleep Story had Timothée Chalamet struggling to read a calming sleep story, leading to his replacement by Alec Baldwin, who leaned into his angry reputation and ended the scene with a yell and a clap.

The upcoming episode, airing on November 18, will be hosted by Jason Momoa, known for his role in "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom", with musical performances by pop singer Tate McRae.
